Regular televised coverage of the British House of Commons began November 21, 1989, since then C-SPAN aired the twice-weekly prime minister’s Question Time. Then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher originally opposed to allowing cameras in the chambers, but after a one-year experiment the House of Commons voted to continue television coverage of the proceedings. This retrospective highlighted some of the memorable moments in the House and contains interviews on the effects of televising the sessions. close
