The U.S. House of Representatives met for the last session of the 103rd Congress. Members debated the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) treaty. Representative Steve Largent (R-OK) took his oath as a new member of the House replacing then-Senator James Inhofe (R-OK). Following debate and votes on the treaty and amendments to it, the measure passed by 288 yeas to 146 nays. After the close of business, the House adjourned for the final time in the session and ended the 103rd Congressional Session. close
