Administration economic officials talked about the November economic figures. Secretary Reich reported that since January 1993, more than 5 million new jobs have been created, that the unemployment rate has sunk to a 4-year low of 5.6 percent, and that manufacturing employment has grown for 11 straight months. He noted that the industrial Midwest in particular is in “terrific shape.” He also said manufacturing jobs had their highest 1-month increase in 6 years in November. After their remarks, they took questions from the press. close
