The committee heard testimony on the effectiveness of a proposal for a national computer system which would allow police to get timely and accurate information on criminals. Ten years ago Congress funded the system, but today 20 states do not participate and only 20 percent of convicted felons in the U.S. are included. Mr. Walsh is host of the television show, “America’s Most Wanted.” Mr. Klaas was the father of Polly Klaas who was kidnapped and murdered by a convicted felon. close
