President Clinton talked about the 1994 midterm elections, efforts to reduce the deficit, health care reform, expansion of trade, the lifetime of learning agenda, student loan reform, the Family Leave Act, and the Crime Bill. He told fellow Democrats they have to reaffirm their convictions with clarity and engage Republicans in a spirit of genuine partnership. “Stop all this demonization and get on with the business of helping America to build this country,” he declared. close
