Committee members heard testimony from witnesses who are opposed to legislation that would cut further federal support for public broadcasting. Currently, public broadcasting receives more than $285 and a half million from the government. Republican leaders are proposing to eliminate federal support, and by law, privatize the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. close
