Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama and Foreign Minister Yohei Kono opened the 132nd session of the Japanese Parliament. The Diet is located in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. Prime Minister Murayama talked about how his government would deal with the earthquake that struck Kobe earlier in the week. Prime Minister Murayama also talked about his agenda for the following year, focusing on peaceful foreign relations 50 years after the end of World War II. Foreign Minister Kono focused on Japanese hopes for peaceful international relations. Translation was performed from Japanese to English by a translator. close
