Finlay Lewis, economics correspondent for Copley News Service, talked about the financial situation in Mexico and the potential for U.S. assistance. In the newspaper roundtable, reporters Rachelle Cohen, of the Boston Herald, and Tom Sherwood, of WRC-Channel 4 D.C., discussed headlines from various papers across the country. Via telephone, Senator Robert Kerrey (D-KS) talked about what is in the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform’s final report. In a point-counterpoint discussion, Representative Charlie Rangel (D-NY) and Governor Tommy Thompson (R-WI) discussed welfare reform. Governor Thompson participated via a remote link.
