Senate Banking Committee members heard testimony on U.S. aid to Mexico. They were expected to address how the U.S taxpayer would be protected if our government granted Mexico a $40 million loan as well as the causes and extent of damage to the Mexican economy. During the middle of the hearing, President Clinton announced the U.S. government would not be granting Mexico the loan. close
