Ronald Ostrow, reporter for the Los Angeles Times, talked about the 1996 Justice Department budget by telephone. Martha Phillips, of The Concord Coalition, and Delores Tucker, chair of the National Political Congress of Black Women, talked about current issues including the balanced budget amendment and affirmative action. Representative James Oberstar (D-MN) and Assistant Secretary of Policy for the Department of Transportation Frank Kruesi discussed privatization of the Federal Aviation Administration proposals. Spencer Rich, Washington Post reporter, talked about the role of Social Security in the balanced budget amendment. close
