The Senate continued debate on a defense spending bill that would provide $2 billion for unanticipated defense costs, including peacekeeping operations in Haiti and Kuwait. The money would come from other defense funds already allocated but not yet spent. The House-passed version of the bill approves more than $3 billion in defense spending. close
