Addressing the issue of global climate change, Vice President Al Gore declared that the United States is committed to reaching 1990 levels of greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2000. He noted that the administration has developed an ambitious plan aimed at fulfilling President Clinton’s commitment, and that 40 out of 47 of these initiatives have received funding and are now underway. close
