Alice Rivlin and several other senior Administration officials discussed and took media questions on the continuing effort to make government work better and cost less. In general, officials representing the Interior Department, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Small Business Administration reported that they will be relying more on partnerships with the states and on the private sector to accomplish their activities. Rivlin said the savings from these four agencies amounts to $13 billion over 5 years. close
