South African Journalist Allister Sparks spoke at the Center for Foreign Journalists 10th anniversary celebration. He talked about the future of South Africa. He spoke of his newfound pride of his country with the political change and election of Nelson Mandela and the death of the policy of Apartied. Beginning by illustrating a brief history of South Africa from early colonial times to today, he emphasized the importance of the revolution there and Mandela’s efforts at reconciliation. The event continued with speeches by other foreign journalists. close
