President Fernando Cardoso of Brazil

addressed members at the NATIONAL PRESS CLUB about Brazil’s economy and social reforms.

The president was in the U.S. on his first official state visit.

He met with President Clinton, administration officials, and lawmakers to discuss U.S.-Brazil trade relations and policies toward Cuba.

Following his prepared statement, President Cardoso took questions from members.
