President Bill Clinton met with reporters to say that he is proud of the swift, decisive, and determined efforts of law enforcement officials working on the Oklahoma City bombing case. He extended his “deepest thanks” to the men and women still involved in the rescue teams. The president emphasized that justice for the killers will be certain, swift, and severe. “We will find them. We will convict them. And we will seek the death penalty for them,” he stated. Media questions focused on a possible motive, potential suspects, and whether the bombing could have been prevented. close
