Donald Engen, former administrator Federal Aviation Administration, participated in a C-SPAN viewer call-in program moderated by C-SPAN’s Ed Maddox. Mr. Engen spoke about airline safety and the aging airline fleets used by commercial air carriers. The program took place following several incidents involving commercial aircraft including an incident with Aloha Airlines Flight 243 which resulted in many injuries and the death of a crew member and United Airlines Flight 811 incident which resulted in nine deaths. close
