Members of the Senate Finance Committee heard testimony from federal and state health care specialists concerning children’s vaccine programs. The program, began in 1994 in response to a measles outbreak in 1989. Senators questioned the cost of the program and the efficiency of the program’s delivery of vaccines. Kwai-Cheung Chan of the General Accounting Office testified that the budget overruns did not occur due to the cost of the vaccines. close
