Carol Browner, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator spoke to the League of Women Voters about the federal government’s responsibility to protect the land, air and water. She also criticized Republican efforts to reduce environmental regulations and encouraged the organization to continue to support strong environmental regulations. Dot Ridings, Former League of Women Voters President, spoke about the League’s agenda for the next 75 years. The League also honored Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun for his contribution to democracy. He also made brief remarks and took a few questions, including questions on \f2Roe v.
