Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. The C-SPAN School Bus visited the USA Today building for interviews with editors and correspondents. In the first segment, Mr. Curley discussed the executive structure of USA Today. Mr. Mazzarella described the editorial process for the overall paper. Ms. Neuman and Mr. Welch discussed the newspaper headline stories. Ms. Vereen discussed designing the USA Today front page. Mr. Sanders talked about the newspaper’s on-line services. In the last segment Ms. Jurgensen described the set up of the editorial page and the selection of articles. close
