Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone call, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Ilsemann talked about his perspectives on Washington politics as a foreign correspondent. In the newspaper roundtable, talk radio hosts Jarvis, Farber and Ratner discussed current news topics. In the next segment, Mr. Fukuyama, author of Trust: The Social Virtues and the Creation of Prosperity, talked about his book which focuses on how social trust impacts the modern economy. In the last segment, Senator Coverdell talked about the debate over Medicare reform. close
