Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Brookman talked about the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s photographic exhibition on U.S. politicians from the 1840s to the present. In the next segment, Mr. Tagett talked about current news topics, including the Republican Iowa straw vote and Democratic National Committee meeting on Saturday. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Corn and Mr. Sobran talked about current news topics. In the next segment, Mr. York talked about Republican disagreements over AMTRAK funding cuts. In the next segment, Mr. Tasnadi and Mr. Johnston talked about the art of news photography while photographs from the Corcoran Gallery exhibit were shown. In the final segment, Mr. Brookman talked further about the Corcoran exhibit. close
