Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers, and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. In the first segment James Toedtman of Newsday, discussed the release of human rights activist Harry Wu from a Chinese prison. In the newspaper roundtable, Jessica Lee of USA Today and Todd Lindberg of the Washington Times talked about the morning headline stories. David Rohde of the Christian Science Monitor discussed evidence he found that Serbs massacred hundreds of Muslims in U.N. safe areas after the fall of Srebrenica and Zeppa. In a video, Jim Warlick Owner of Political Americana, a store that sells political buttons, posters, and other memorabilia, talked about his store and what sells.
