During a photo opportunity in the Oval Office, President Clinton and Prime Minister Rabin talked about the latest peace agreement in the Middle East which gives Palestinians much more control over the former occupied regions of the West Bank. The two leaders took media questions on issues including: whether the peace accord will be a step toward a Palestinian state; U.S. policy regarding the creation of such a state; whether the accord will lead to an agreement on the Syrian front; the implementation of the accord; and whether Israel should release all the Palestinian prisoners when the accord was signed. close
