C-SPAN’s Washington Journal examined current news events and political issues through reviews newspapers, interviews, and viewer comments. U.S. The program’s first segment focused on the Supreme Court’s new session. The segment featured a video of Supreme Court Justices attending the annual “Red Mass” yesterday for blessing the new term. Alfred Wong, the former Supreme Court Marshall spoke by remote from the plaza of the Supreme Court on the preparations for the opening session. Frank Murray, of the Washington Times, took calls and gave his view of the court’s upcoming docket and other current events. Armstrong Williams, radio talk show host, joined Mr. Murray to talk about the court and other issues. Author of the book The Center Holds, James Simon talked about the U.S. Supreme Court in an excerpt of a longer interview. Professor Gerry Livingston talked about the reunification of Germany. Lastly musician Charlie Daniels talked about political songwriting. close
