Current events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Holman talked about current topics, including the upcoming Million Man March on Monday. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Alterman and Ms. Bering-Jensen talked about current events, including the cease fire in Bosnia. In the next segment, Ms. Rasell talked about the statistics behind the Republican Medicare proposal. In the next segment, Professor Jeffrey talked about her seven-day term as House historian and how she is still trying to deal with her dismissal. In the final segment, Ms. Jurey talked about her book, A Basement Seat to History, which chronicles her life as a correspondent covering presidents Nixon through Reagan for Voice of America. close
