Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Jamie Dupree talked about current headlines, including the congressional votes on budget reconciliation. In the newspaper roundtable, Representatives Thomas Barrett and Billy Tauzin reviewed current news stories, including more on the budget debate. In the point-counterpoint, Khalil Jahshan and Jason Isaacson debated whether the U.S. should move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Morton Klein also joined the discussion by telephone. In the final segment, Vinton Cerf discussed the origins, development and uses of the Internet. close
