Current news events and political issues were examined through

reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists,

newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and

electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Tackett talked about

current headlines, including the U.S. peace mission in Bosnia. In

the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Francis and Mr. Rich talked about

various current topics. In the next segment, Ms. Cleaver and Ms.

Steele discussed provisions in the Telecommunications Act of 1995

that would define appropriate language and images for the Internet.

In the final segment, Commander Franklin talked by telephone about the Department

of Defense’s new BosniaLINK service to provide information about the

peace mission in Bosnia via the Internet. close
