At the Elysee palace, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian leaders met with other international leaders to sign an agreement to end the conflict and divide Bosnia into a Bosnian-Croat federation and a Serb Republic. The two nations will remain loosely united under a single presidency and parliament. Representatives from eight nations and the European Union signed the agreement. Translation was provided by voiceover. In his remarks, President Clinton stated, “Today Mr. presidents, you have bound yourselves to peace. But tomorrow you must turn the pages of this agreement into a real-life future of hope for those who have survived this horrible war.” close
