Participants gathered at the Ebenezer Baptist Church where Dr. King and his father preached to honor him on what would have been his 67th birthday. Mr. Gregory spoke about how Dr. King influenced his life and made several humorous statements. After being greeted by cheers of “Four more years,” President Clinton spoke about the legacy of Dr. King. He emphasized the need for unity and community in the U.S. today to proceed together into the next century. The ceremony closed with “We Shall Overcome.” close
