The guests looked back at the U.S. Supreme Court case, “Chandler v. Florida,” which was decided 15 years ago. The case permitted states to televise criminal trials, and the results are explored. In 1981, Mr. Hirschorn was the attorney who represented Chandler. He participated in the roundtable by telephone. The footage was shown from the first televised criminal case, July 1, 1991, in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Pennsylvania, an age discrimination case called “Becker v. Unisys.” close
