News events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Basil Talbot talked about the morning headlines. In the newspaper roundtable, Representative Sherrod Brown(D-Ohio) and Dave Camp(R-Michigan) talked about current issues including their states' primaries and the nation’s business and commerce. Rebecca Repath talked by telephone about her first vote in the Wisconsin primary. In the next segment, Michael DiMario talked by remote connection about the national printing office and the 1997 Federal Budget. In the final segment, Michael Baroody and Mary Griffin discussed product liability reform. close
