Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Eisenstadt and Ms. Sweet talked about the presidential campaign, the congressional agenda among other issues. After the live Education Summit session, telephone lines were opened for viewer comments. In the next segment, Mr. Rojas and Mr. Clendenin discussed the Education Summit agenda and how the U.S. education system can be improved. In the last segment, Mr. Griffith talked about the National Capital Planning Commission plans for changing the landscape of the District of Columbia from an exhibit in Union Station. close
