Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Holman talked about current headlines, including the long-term impact of the budget agreement. Mr. Isikoff talked about President Clinton’s testimony in the trial involving Governor Tucker which he would give in the White House later in the day. In the newspaper roundtable, Ms. Buchanan and Ms. Berry discussed current headlines, including Mayor Barry’s decision to take a leave of absence and the 1996 presidential campaign. In the last segment, Representatives Hutchinson debated the merits of raising the minimum wage. close
