Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Daley talked about the morning headlines, including the rise in gas prices and the debate over raising the minimum wage. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Seigenthaler and Rep. Souder talked about current issues including international politics and medical reforms. Mr. Alberelli talked about his first vote and political views. In the next segment, Mr. Taylor talked about the presentation of the congressional gold medal to Rev. and Mrs. Graham. In the final segment, Mr. Bentley and Ms. Walker talked about photographing Dole and Clinton campaigns respectively. close
