The House subcommittee on surface transportation held a hearing on truck safety. The primary foci of the oversight hearing were the Motor Carrier Safety Act of 1984 and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986. Witnesses appearing before the committee included a senior analyst from the Department of Transportation, representatives from the insurance industry and the President of the American Trucking Association, Thomas Donohue. close
