The primary foci of the oversight hearing were the Motor Carrier Safety Act of 1984 and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986. Witnesses appearing before the committee included a senior analyst from the Department of Transportation, representatives from the insurance industry and the President of the American Trucking Association, Thomas Donohue. close
