Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, George Condon of the Copley News Service talked about the morning issues including the terrorist bombing in Saudi Arabia. In the next segment, Yvonne Maguire Vice President and Consumer Advocate of the U.S. Postal Service talked by remote connection about the Postal Service and its services. In the newspaper roundtable, Representative Donald Payne (D-New Jersey) and Matt Salmon (R-Arizona) talked about current issues including the bombing in Saudi Arabia and minimum wage legislation. In the next segment, Ms. Maguire joined again by remote connection about the U.S. Postal Service. In the final segment, Scholarship winners Paula Faas and Brad Taylor talked about the morning headlines and took viewer telephone calls. close
