Michael Jacobson and Dr. Ian Greaves briefed reporters on the health problems related to ingestion of Olestra, a new pseudo fat product made by Proctor and Gamble. They argued that the FDA made a mistake by approving the substance which can cause intestinal disturbances and can block some of the absorption of carotinoids. They also called on Frito-Lay to take its Max snack chips, which contain Olestra, off the market. close
