Participants talked about the Campaign Discourse Mapping Project, in which they analyzed the rhetoric from both candidates, journalists and the public in four presidential elections: 1960, 1980, 1988 and 1992. They explained how they are trying to categorize and score the language used in these campaigns to find recognizable trends. They also outlined how their findings can be applied to the 1996 election as it progresses. close
