reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists,

newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and

electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Crawford talked about the

morning headlines including welfare reform. In the next segment,

Mr. Grann talked by remote connection about campaign finance. In

the newspaper roundtable, Reps. Farr and Forbes talked about current

issues including the Olympics and the recent TWA plane crash. Mr.

Schneider talked about his political views and upcoming first vote.

In the next segment, Mr. Patterson talked by remote connection about

the newest edition of the Foreign Relations of the U.S., a

publication by the National Archives. In the final segment, Mr.
