Administrator Browner and Ms. Nydal spoke about the importance of clean drinking water for U.S. citizens. In his remarks, President Clinton emphasized that this legislation requires water systems to notify citizens yearly of the contaminants in their water and provides $10 billion in loans for communities to upgrade water treatment systems. After his remarks, he signed the bill while being surrounded by legislators, and children wearing T-shirts with “Safe Drinking Water” on them. close
