Congressional leaders and President Bill Clinton spoke about the importance of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act which would help people maintain coverage when they change jobs and prevent insurance companies from denying people with preexisting conditions who change jobs. In his remarks, President Clinton stressed the accomplishments of this bill but also emphasized that the federal government must do more to reform the U.S. health care system. close
