Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Lambro talked about the morning headlines including the presidential campaigns. In the next segment, Mr. Krauss discussed the convention and the presidential campaign. In the newspaper roundtable segment, Mr. Novak and Ms. Ivins reviewed the morning headlines and discussed items in different newspapers. In the next segment, Rev. Jackson and Rep. Jackson discussed the convention, Rev. Jackson’s political plans and his upcoming speech to the convention. In a videotaped clip, Mr. Kamin discussed the architecture of Chicago and specifically the Tribune Building. In the last segment, Mr. Goldstein discussed all of the conventions he has attended and his local political career in Maryland. close
