Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Ms. Wright discussed the recent United States attacks against Iraq. In the next segment, Mr. Kovski talked by remote connection about the attack on Iraq and how it would effect the price of oil. Following that segment, Rep. Buyer and Rep. Meehan discussed current issues and the morning headlines. Following newspaper roundtable, a videotape of a news conference given by Sen. McCain regarding the situation in Iraq was shown. In the next segment, Rep. Beilenson talked by remote connection about his proposal to move one- minute speeches in the House from the beginning of the day to the end of the day. In the next segment, Mr. Goodman spoke from remote connection at FEMA headquarters about the agency’s preparations for Hurricane Fran. close
