John Roberts, former deputy solicitor general for George H.W. Bush’s administration, and Theodore Olson, former assistant attorney general for Ronald Reagan’s administration, previewed several cases on the Supreme Court’s docket for the 1996-97 term, which started on October 7th, 1996. They focused particularly on those cases which they believed were most important for the general public, including President Clinton vs. Paula Jones and several First Amendment cases. Following their opening remarks, both men took questions from the audience. close
