Utah Governor Mike Leavitt (R), Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Representative Enid Green (R-UT) and other members of the Utah congressional delegation reacted to President Bill Clinton’s decision to set aside about 1.7 million acres of southern Utah as a national monument. They criticized him for depriving Utah citizens of precious resources and for not consulting Congress on this issues or even being forthright with their delegation. close
