As part of an occasional series featuring principal officers of U.S. foreign affairs agencies, Ambassador Philip Wilcox, State Department Counterterrorism Coordinator, discussed the rising fear terrorism in the U.S. He mentioned the World Trade Center bombing, the Oklahoma federal building bombing and others. He also talked about the use of chemical weapons by terrorists, such as the use of Saren in the Tokyo subway. He described methods the State Department uses to prevent terrorism. Following his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
