After a one-minute adjournment in order to start a new legislative day, the Senate reconvened. Democratic Leader Senator Tom Daschle, D-South Dakota, began by praising retiring Senator Paul Simon, D-Illinois, for all his accomplishments during his years as a United States Senator. Members from both sides of the isle joined the well wishing for the retiring Senator. Senator Bill Frist, R-Tennessee discussed abortion. This session ended with Morning Business Speeches. close
