House Government Reform & Oversight subcommittee members heard testimony from Institute for Defense Analysis officials, administration drug officials and others concerning a study on the effectiveness of U.S. anti-drug efforts which Secretary Perry asked the Institute for Defense Analysis to perform in 1994. The witnesses testified about the results of the study and whether the Clinton administration tried to delay its release or cover it up entirely because its findings criticized the administration’s efforts towards treatment rather than interdiction. close
