Mr. Armacost moderated a discussion between Mr. Solarz and Mr. Cutter, who represented the Clinton campaign, and Mr. Zoellick and Mr. Paal, represented the Dole campaign, on U.S. policy toward Asia, specifically the Pacific Rim region. They made opening and closing statements and took a series of questions from Mr. Armacost which focused on strategic and security interests, in areas such as China and Korea, and then economic and trade issues, concerning China, Japan and the rest of the region. close
